About

My name is Elizabeth, and the word of God is life to me. This blog is intended to lift up the name of the Lord.

Now for a little bit about me: I grew up in the city, now live in a small town, and love the country. I live with my husband, a dwarf hamster, and two precious cats. I’ve never met a cat I didn’t like. My adult daughter (hey, sweetie!) and her family live further away than I would like, but we get together fairly often. I could spend all day in Bible study, and also enjoy biking, cooking, digging in the dirt, painting and other forms of art. My addictions (hey, I’m working on it!) are Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles. 🙂

I’m honored that you have decided to join me as I reflect on the Christian faith. Welcome!

  1. Hello Elizabeth. Thank you for visiting my blog and welcome! I would like to grow as a spiritual being, but have problems with “the church”. Your entry today moved me to write- it addresses some deep seated fears and insecurities that I shoulder without consideration of the presence of God. Thank you for beginning this journey.

  2. Welcome to my blog! I’m so glad you decided to follow it. I am still trying to find my way around wordpress and couldn’t locate your name, but you have some amazing photos, westseventhfreelance! (Love the picture of you, your sister, and your niece.) Church can be tricky. I’ll have to reflect on that subject in an upcoming post. Specifically, which aspects of the church do you have the most problems? I’ll do my best to address it. Until next time, Elizabeth

  3. Nice reading about you Elizabeth

  4. Coming from an Orthodox Christian country and brought up this way, it is always fascinating to see how Christians all over the world feel and live. It offers me the great gift of understanding, even if I don’t always agree. Thank you for the time you devote to write about the most interesting topic of all and promise you I will read!

  5. Hi Elizabeth,

    • Stefano, I had no idea about the violence against albinos in Tanzania until the last few months. I’m keeping up with what’s going on. It is uplifting to read about the work of Under the Mango Tree, and I am praying for the project. To all my readers, you can follow what’s going on at Under the Mango Tree at taborajournal.wordpress.com. I recommend it. Thanks for writing, Stefano!
      In Christ,
      Elizabeth

  6. Thank you for reading about the Servants of Charity. I pray that they inspire you in your daily walk as a Christian.

  7. I love your heart for the Way, the Truth & the Life and your time spent conveying what He says! Grace & Peace!

  8. I’ve just got to say “thank you”, realized how often you visit my blog. I hope you enjoy it. I’ve always tried to keep my walk close to the Lord. I’m beginning to understand it’s not about running around and telling everyone that they need to believe, but to show them through my actions of love. Really like your blog and the message.

    • Thank you! I agree: without the proof evidenced in your life, evangelism means little to its hearers. Understandably, I might add.
Your blog opens my eyes to a country that I know little about beyond history class and stereotypes. Thank you for that!

    • I’m really enjoying myself here. I hope to reveal what’s going on behind what was once an “Iron Curtain” it’s definitely a different world here. We are so alike, but then again………….

    • That’s one of the things I love about visiting other places: it helps you to understand this human experience more fully as you compare cultures. Keep up the good work!

  9. Listened to one of the songs that you pulled off YouTube, wow touched my heart deeply. When I see people praise God like that………….it just……………well you know.

  10. Thank you, my friend! Your blog came to my mind for the Liester Award. I just wanted to thank you for being a support and to encourage others to visit your blog.
